Safe Christmas: Tammer gifted fireproof doors to Kuressaare Adults’ Gymnasium

Since 2018, Tammer has partnered with the Estonian Rescue Board in the charity project “Safe Christmas”. We wish to make the world a safer place and contribute in children’s safety by gifting fireproof doors to one educational institution every year.

The fifth year of the project took us to Kuressaare Adults’ Gymnasium. During the process of reconstructing the school building, fireproof doors were not installed. As a result, the Rescue Board issued a notice regarding the deficiencies in fire compartment sections. Tammer`s team took a trip to Saaremaa and installed a total of 9 new doors which limit the spread of fire for at least 60 minutes.

The old wooden doors of the study room and canteen were replaced with fireproof metal doors. The gym doors which open to the evacuation zone also got a completely new look. In the sports complex we installed two double-leaf and two single-leaf metal doors. New doors are equipped with evacuation locks to ensure safe exit from the building in the case of an emergency. In the evacuation stairwell we also replaced the fire door of the trainers room.

Special thanks to all our cooperation partners Valnes, LukuCentrum and Päästeliit, who participated in the project and helped to bring Christmas joy to both young and grown-up students of Kuressaare! Together we made the educational path safer!
